All NFL Media is Local- Detroit Lions

Off to the Motor City to take a look at the local media contingent that follows the Detroit Lions

Newspaper- Detroit is primarily a two paper town, sharing one owner with two editorial staffs. The Detroit Free Press has a fairly well laid out online sports section which includes content dedicated to the Lions. Dave Birkett (Twitter) is the lead Lions beat reporter for the paper.  Expect columnists Mitch Albom (Twitter),  Drew Sharp (Twitter), Jeff Seidel (Twitter), and Michael Rosenberg (Twitter) to chime in on the Lions from time to time.

The Detroit News also has a good layout for its sports section. Its’ Lions-specific page also mixes in other news from around the NFL. Beat reporter Chris McCosky (Twitter) keeps readers up to date on the paper’s Lions Blog.  Bob Wojnowski (Twitter), Jerry Green,  John Niyo (Twitter) and Terry Foster (Twitter) are the columnists for the News.

Sports RadioWYXT serves as the flagship in the Lions Radio Network. Dan Miller handles play-by-play with Jim Brandstatter on analysis. You can also talk Lions on WDFN.
