All NFL Media is Local- New Orleans Saints

Next up in our look at the local sports media outlets covering the NFL is the contingent that follows the New Orleans Saints.

Newspaper- The Times-Picayune is the city’s dominant newspaper. It’s online presence, including its sports section, is housed on NOLA.com. The site does have a Saints-dedicated page. Jeff Duncan (Twitter)  Larry Holder (Twitter), Kevin Spain (Twitter) and Nakia Hogan (Twitter)are the paper’s primary reporters on the Saints beat.  Columnist Gerry Vaillancourt will also have a take on the Saints.

Sports Radio- WWL is the flagship station in the Saints Radio Network. Jim Henderson handles play-by-play and Hokie Gajan provides analysis.

Television- New Orleans is served on television via WWL-TVWDSUWGNO, and WVUE.  Cox Sports Television in New Orleans also provides coverage of the Saints.

Blogs- Some of the blogs that comment on the Saints include Black and Gold, Canal Street ChroniclesSaints Gab, and the team’s own blog.

Next up in our talks with local NFL play-by-play announcers is Jim Henderson, voice of the New Orleans Saints.

Jim has been broadcasting Saints games since 1986 and also serves as Sports Director at WWL-TV in New Orleans.

In the interview Henderson talks about the challenges the New Orleans franchise has had to face, the head coaches he’s worked with, and his early prediction of the Saints making the Super Bowl…

Newspaper- The Times-Picayune is the city’s dominant newspaper. It’s online sports section is pretty basic. So is their Saints-dedicated page. Peter Finney and John DeShazier are the paper’s primary sports columnists. The Saints Beat is the paper’s New Orleans NFL blog.

Sports Radio- WWL is the flagship station in the Saints Radio Network. Jim Henderson handles play-by-play and Hokie Gajan provides analysis. WODT used to be the sports radio station serving the Crescent City, but it changed formats last month.

Television- New Orleans is served on television via WWL-TV, WDSU, WGNO, and WVUE.

Blogs- Some of the blogs that comment on the Saints include Black and Gold, Our New Orleans Saints, and Saints Gab.

History was made 30 years ago today, December 11, 1977.  The Tampa Bay Buccaneers finally broke their 26 game losing streak by beating the New Orleans Saints 33-14. And on the road no less!  This brief clip is all we could find from that game…
