Off to The Windy City to check out the media covering the CHICAGO WHITE SOX.
Newspaper- Chicago is a two newspaper town, with both the Sun Times and the Tribune (subscription may be required) serving the city. Both papers’ online sports pages provide comprehensive coverage of the White Sox. Both also have space dedicated to the team.
Sun Times beat writer Daryl Van Schouwen (Twitter) and Chris De Luca (Twitter) keep up the paper’s Inside the White Sox blog. The paper has Rick Telander (Twitter), Joe Cowley and Rick Morrissey (Twitter) as columnists who will chime-in on the White Sox.
At the Trib, Mark Gonzalez leads the White Sox beat. Columnists at the paper include David Haugh (Twitter), Steve Rosenbloom (Twitter) and Phil Rogers (Twitter) who will give their opinion on the Sox.
Sports Radio- WSCR The Score is the flagship that steers the White Sox Radio Network. Ed Farmer calls the games with Darrin Jackson and Aaron Rowand. Chris Rongey (Twitter) serves as studio host. Ozzie Guillen, Jr. and Omar Ramos provide the Spanish language broadcast on WRTO. Along with WSCR the Windy City has plenty of Sox talk at ESPN 1000AM.
Television- WGN and CSN Chicago have the White Sox games on TV. Ken Harrelson leads the team along with Steve Stone, Frank Thomas (Twitter) and Tom Paciorek. Pat Boyle handles pre and post game duties. The local television outlets covering the Sox include WBBM, WFLD, WLS, WMAQ, and WGN. And don’t forget ESPN Chicago’s coverage of the White Sox.
