All MLB Media is Local- San Francisco Giants

We head to the Bay Area to examine the media outlets following the SAN FRANCISCO GIANTS

Newspaper-
The dominant daily in the city is the San Francisco Chronicle.   Its online sports page (and the rest of the paper online) is part of SF Gate.com.  The sports section has a page dedicated to the Giants. Henry Schulman (Twitter) leads the beat and maintains The Splash blog.  With columnists like Scott Ostler (Twitter), John Shea (Twitter) and Ann Killion (Twitter), you can expect plenty to be written about the Giants.

Sports RadioKNBR serves as the flagships to the Giants Radio Network.  Broadcasters include Jon Miller or Duane Kuiper along with Dave Flemming (Twitter) or Mike Krukow.  Spanish language broadcasts are handled by Erwin Higueros and Tito Fuentes. KNBR and KGMZ are two outlets for sports radio talk on the Giants.

Television– Miller, Kuiper, and Krukow are part of the team’s television broadcasts on Comcast SportsNet Bay Area and KNTV. Amy Gutierrez (Twitter), Bip Roberts (Twitter), Shawn Estes (Twitter), and Raj Mathai (Twitter) serve as studio hosts and analysts  KGO, KNTV, KPIX, KTVU are the major television outlets in San Francisco.

Blogs–  Independent websites following the Giants include McCovey Chronicles, Ball City Ball, The Giants Cove and THE San Francisco Giants Blog.

  1. Last year, The Giants appeared in TV listings (usually on CSNBA). Why are they not in the TV listings this year? Where do Giants fans tune to watch their team?
