Sports Media Digest- January 17, 2013

College Hoops Saturday on CBS CBS will have a college basketball double header on Saturday.  Regional action tips-off at 2:00p.m. ET with either Kansas at Texas (Kevin Harlan, Clark Kellogg on the call) or West Virginia at Purdue (Ian Eagle and Bill Raftery).  The national telecast at 4:00p.m. Et will feature Oregon at UCLA with Spero Dedes and Doug Gottlieb.

TNT has MLK Day NBA Double Header–  TNT will televise a NBA double header this Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday this Monday.  Beginning at 7:00p.m. ET the San Antonio Spurs take on the Philadelphia 76ers with Kevin Harlan, Reggie Miller, Charles Barkley and David Aldridge.  At 9:30p.m. ET Marv Albert, Steve Kerr and Craig Sager are on hand as the L.A. Lakers take on the Chicago Bulls.

Lanny Wadkins Joins Golf Channel Team–  The Golf Channel announced today that Hall-of-Famer Lanny Wadkins will be in the booth as lead analysts for the network’s coverage of 22 Champions Tour events.  Wadkins is no stranger to the role, having served as   lead golf analyst for CBS Sports from 2002-2006.  Wadkins begins his new role this weekend at the Mitsubishi Electric Championship at Hualalai.

Feherty Live Returns to Golf Channel January 23rd The Golf Channel announced today that David Feherty will be on hand at the PGA Merchandise Show to host his first 2013 edition of Feherty Live.  European Ryder Cup Ian Poulter, golfing legends Lee Trevino and Gary Player, and celebrated swing coach Butch Harmon are scheduled to appear.  Feherty Live airs Wednesday night at 8:00p.m. ET.

Fight Night Returns to NBCSN Saturday–  Boxing is on the schedule on the NBC Sports Network (NBCSN) this Saturday as the network resurrects its Fight Night series.  Kenny Rice, Freddie Roach, B.J. Flores Chris Mannix (reporter) will call the action beginning at 9:00p.m. ET

NBC Sports Network has Cycling from Australia–  The NBC Sports Network begins its cycling season this Sunday with coverage of the 2013 Santos Tour Down Under in southern Australia.  Coverage begins at 3:30p.m. ET with Phil Liggett and Paul Sherwen calling the action.

College Lacrosse on NBCSN  The NBC Sports Network (NBCSN) has announced a schedule of early season college lacrosse games to begin next month.  On February 17th NBCSN will air the Moe’s Southwestern Grill Classic on February 17 at 1:00 p.m. ET from EverBank Field in Jacksonville, Fla. The tournament features Penn State vs. Denver and Ohio State vs. Jacksonville. On February 23rd NBCSN will have coverage of powers Loyola and Maryland.  Coverage begins at 1:30p.m. ET.

UFC on Fox This Weekend–  The UFC returns to Fox Sports this weekend.  The four-bout match begins Saturday at 8:00p.m. ET with announcers Mike Goldberg and Joe Rogan.
