Sports Media Digest- May 25, 2012

Sunday Night Football Highest Rated TV Series of the Season-  NBC Sports has announced that Sunday Night Football finished the fall and spring television season as the most-watched show in primetime.  It’s the first sports series to finish number one overall.  Sunday Night Football averaged 21.5 million viewers and 20.9 million viewers for its games during the official TV season which ran from Sept. 19, 2011 through May 23, 2012.

ABC to Televise Sixers/Celtics Game Seven-  ESPN has announced that tomorrow night’s Game 7 match-up between the Philadelphia 76’ers and the Boston Celtics will air on ABC.  The NBA Eastern Conference Semifinals clincher tips-off at 7:30p.m. ET with the Kia NBA Countdown pregame show with analysts Magic Johnson, Jon Barry, Michael Wilbon and Chris Broussard previewing the game. Tip-off is at 8:00p.m. ET with Mike Breen, Jeff Van Gundy and Doris Burke on the call.

Jazz Coach Corbin to Join NBA TV’s GameTime Sunday-  NBA TV has announced that Utah Jazz Head Coach Tyrone Corbin will be joining the set of NBA TV GameTime this Sunday night.  Corbin will join host Vince Cellini and analysts Steve Smith and Brent Barry at7 p.m. (ET) to preview the Conference Finals.

Rays/Red Sox Sunday MLB on TBS Telecast- This Sunday’s MLB on TBS telecast will feature the Tampa Bay Rays at the Boston Red Sox.  First pitch is 1:30p.m. ET with Dick Stockton and Ron Darling on the call.

Scripps National Spelling Bee Back on ESPN, ESPN2 and ESPN3-  ESPN, ESPN2 and ESPN3 will once again be the home for the Scripps National Spelling Bee.  Coverage begins next week with Sage Steele as host with Paul A. Loeffler and Samantha Steele adding analysis and reporting.  Here is the Scripps National Spelling Bee schedule:

World Fishing Network’s Hookin’ Up with Mariko Izumi to Produce 3D episode-  The World Fishing Network will be producing a special 3D episode of its Hookin’ Up with Mariko Izumi that will air on DirectTV.  Hookin’ Up with Mariko Izumi – Expedition Fly Fishing 3D, will air exclusively on DIRECTV’s HD 3D channel, n3D (Channel #103) on Saturday, May 26th from 8:00-9:00 p.m. ET.
