Turner Announces 2010 MLB Announcer Team

Turner Sports will employ a rotating announcer schedule for it’s 2010 regular season Sunday MLB on TBS.  Ernie Johnson, Dick Stockton, and Brian Anderson with split the play-by-play duties.  Returning analysts Ron Darling and Buck Martinez will share the spotlight with Dennis Eckersley, David Wells, and newcomer John Smoltz.

The play-by-play assignments replace former lead voice Chip Carey, who was released from his contract with Turner last fall.

From Turner Sports PR:

Our announcers and analysts have extensive experience covering Major League Baseball action.  That background, as well as their insights into the game, will enhance our coverage as a whole,” said David Levy, president of ad sales, distribution and sports, Turner Broadcasting System, Inc.  “The caliber of on-air talent for our national game-of-the-week package will ensure fans enjoy informative, entertaining telecasts throughout our regular and Postseason schedule.”
